Once an agrarian nation, the United States boomed in production and efficiency during the Industrial Revolution. Manufactured goods and the development of technology paved the way for the direct relationship between the economy and historical events. This website will outline exactly what problems existed during the Gilded Age as well as offer solutions presented in Edward Bellamy’s novel, Looking Backward 2000-1887. Analysis will show that the economy had a strong impact on the lives of American citizens during the years 1870-1900, in addition to the generations to come.
MISSION:
To continue studies in Economics and US History by focusing on the effect of monetary policy on American historical events.
